Join CIHC Mainstream!

jnJust a reminder that CIHC Mainstream has launched and we’re interested in including anyone in the practice community who wants to get involved in moving interprofessional collaboration forward in the workplace.  We’re in the process of setting up some small groups focusing on topics health practitioners have told us are important to them – developing networks, sharing success (and failure) stories and advising the CIHC Steering Committee on how to make  collaborative practice the norm in the practice environment.  If you’re interested in learning more, see the Mainstream page of our website http://www.cihc.ca/regional/mainstream or contact the CIHC Communications Director at communications@cihc.ca.

Fantastic approach! It’s about time someone actually talked to those of us in practice about we’re interested in doing. Two questions: can anyone join this initiative and (with all due respect to my colleagues who live in academic circles) how will you help to ensure that this remains practice focused and does not drift into academia?

Good questions. Yes, anyone can join this initiative, although our focus is on three main groups – those in the practice community, those who live in Canada’s far north (the Territories) and those who work with, or are educators of, unregulated health workers. That said, you are more than welcome to get in touch with us and see if any of our topics or discussion would interest you.

I think the community itself is really interested in keeping this accessible to everyone, so we should be able to keep it practice focused with the help of the individuals who have committed to taking part.
