We just returned from the CHLA/ABSC 2009 annual conference in Winnipeg, MB this year, and we had a great time! The CIHC Library was very well received, our presentation (rushed just a tiny bit at the end!) went smoothly and we got some great questions and met a ton of supportive librarians along the way. The slides are now available on Slideshare, so feel free to take a look!
Dal Media Reports on CABII
May 29, 2009Nice to see the Dalhousie newspaper not only reporting on CABII, but getting a bit into the issues and importance of interprofessional education and collaborative practice. Nicely done!

Collaborating II a Huge Success!
May 25, 2009
Congratulations to the organizers and participants at Collaborating Across Borders II in Halifax, which took place May 20-22. The Conference was truly amazing, with more than 450 participants and 150 presentations. The only frustration (other than slow elevators) was the fact that there were so many quality presentations, it was impossible to attend everything you wanted to see. CIHC was well represented by the steering committee and a huge number of members. We also launched our brand-new-look presentation booth (be honest, did you notice it was different?)
Great show everyone! It was great to come together again, and spend some time talking about the work we’ve done over the past year. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Australia for All Together Better Health. Thanks for making CABII such a success!
CIHC/CAME Workshop A Huge Success
May 7, 2009
Dr. Scott Reeves, CIHC Evaluation Director
Yesterday the CIHC and CAME (the Canadian Association for Medical Education) held a joint workshop in Edmonton on the last day of the Canadian Conference on Medical Education. The workshop, Interprofessional Education in Health: Integration, Implications and Outcomes was a great success, with good turnout from across Canada and a great lineup of speakers. CIHC’s Evaluation Director, Scott Reeves, provided an update on the State of the Evidence in IPE which was well-received, particularly since many have been wondering about the outcomes of the IECPCP projects. Hopefully we’ll have more opportunities to work with CAME in the future. Thanks to everyone who took part and helped make this day a success!

OC Conference – Well done!
January 20, 2009
The Honourable David Kaplan, Ontario Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, Dr. Joshua Tepper, Assistant Deputy Minister of Health and Dr. John Gilbert, CIHC Project Lead share a laugh before the official opening of the forum.
Congratulations to the Ontario Collaborative which is wrapping up a two-day conference of more than 300 health and education leaders who are all here in Toronto sharing their stories and successes about interprofessional projects they’ve been running all across the province. This event has been really well-organized, and there’s been a lot of positive energy. It was great to hear Minister Kaplan share his vision and support of the work the OC and all of the Ontario projects are doing. Good work OC!
Focus Groups are a WRAP
December 5, 2008Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the five focus groups on the Evidence Review for Interprofessional Education. Toronto, Saskatoon, St. John’s, Winnipeg and Vancouver – you were all great. I’ve been listening to the digital recordings of the sessions, and the comments and recommendations will go a long way towards helping CIHC set a course for the future. Good job!
We hope to have updated documents and a Focus Group Report posted in the next few months. In the meantime, if you need to see the original documents, you can check them out here.
Thank you for the Music!
June 5, 2008
The Tonsillerna singers opened the Conference with several rousing ABBA songs. The audience was encouraged to join in, proving that most of us are better behind a podium than fronting a 4-piece band.
All Together Better Health IV is wrapping up today in Stockholm, Sweden. What an amazing event this has been! From presentations by world-reknowned scholars and experts in interprofessional education and collaborative practice, down the road to visit the University at Linkoping to the boatride down Lake Malaren to the wee Royal ‘cottage’, Stockholm has been spectacular. CIHC and Canada were very well-represented here with about half the presentations by Canadians. Congratulations to the CIHC Research and Evaluation Committee which won first prize for ‘best presentation’. Click here to view their presentation.
ATBH V will be held April 2010 in Sydney, Australia. See you there!
